Yes, it was my choice to get a hair cut :) My hair was longer than it's ever been, and it was just too hard to take care of. I much prefer short hair, because: you don't have to brush it before going to church, it doesn't tickle your ears, sticks and leaves don't get caught in it as easily when you're running in the woods, you don't get long hairs stuck on your face when taking a shower, it's easier and faster to take showers, and so on.
If you like, next time, I can save a commemorative curl for each sad soul who wishes that I hadn't cut my hair :)
BTW, if you click on the title of my blog, it will take you somewhere
I sympathize with your long hair difficulties. Brushing my hair, whether it's short or long, never makes a difference for longer than 10 minutes. I suppose I could use some sort of spray or gel potion, but that wouldn't mesh with my principles.
I guess you're back in New York now. I kind of liked the rugged look of the long hair that I saw in your good-bye photos. It looked like the evidence of a man who has been on one track for a while! Wish I could spend some time with you but I'm not coming back 'til december. Are you going to be at camp this summer?
I must admit, I didn't think a haircut could spark so many comments. I also would like to note the irony of your expressions in each of the pictures. Or rather, how fitting the expressions are given your personal opinions on hair length.
So sad. All your beautiful curls... If I had curls like yours, I would NOT cut them off.
ReplyDeleteDoes your head feel lighter and cooler?
ReplyDeleteI agree it is sad to see curls go. Maybe someday you can grow your hair nice and long and then make a wig for Christy with the results.
Looks good, Joel!
Woah! That does make a big difference. :) Was it your choice, or someone else's?
ReplyDeletei think my bird would like to sign up for a wig. Joel can you make him one?
ReplyDeleteI prefer the old man look, although the new man looks better in some ways.
ReplyDeleteHe's back :)
ReplyDeleteI understand the reasoning for cutting curls off, Joel :)

ReplyDeleteCurly-haired people don't need to brush their hair. It looks better unbrushed. If you brush it, it just gets foofy! 3 cheers for ringlets!
ReplyDeleteBrian! Good to hear from you! Yes, I'll be back at Cherokee for another year. We'll be thinking about and praying for you though!

ReplyDeleteIt's sort of like a rogaine commercial in reverse :)
